Launching of Indonesia’s Carbon Scheme

TNBBThe Rainforest Standard (RFS) is the world’s first carbon credit standard to fully integrate requirements and protocols for carbon accounting, sociocultural, and socioeconomic impact, and biodiversity outcomes. It was built from the ground up by Columbia University’s Center for Environment, Economy and Society (CEES); Bolivia’s PUMA Environmental Fund Foundation; Brazil’s Fund for Biodiversity; Colombia’s Environmental Action Fund; Ecuador’s National Environmental Fund; Peru’s Trust Fund for National Parks and Protected Areas, to accommodate the ecological conditions and social realities of the Amazon region and the demands of emerging carbon markets. REDD Professional Training

Reducing Emission from Deforestation and forest Degradation a.k.a. REDD recently become popular and has been taught by many trainers in various place. Basically, it is a strategy which provides a carbon-trade mechanism to reduce forest conversion along with carbon emission produced from forest logging, although it is difficult to achieve realistic results on the field. The scope of REDD actions include reducing forest conversion, conserving biodiversity, and considering the rights of local forest communities.
